About the Program

The Showcase Program celebrates youth artists of all ages from the local community, highlighting a range of creative expression. Throughout the year, the DAM partners with a variety of community organizations to recognize and amplify youth voices.

Youth showcases are in the Wonderscape, located in the lower level of the Martin Building. Entry is included with general admission. If you are planning to visit with a group of 10 or more, please call ahead to the Group Services Department at 720-913-0086 or submit your information online. All group visits require a 1:10 chaperone ratio.

Current Showcase: Indomitably Indigenous 2025

October 31, 2025-January 9, 2026

Indomitably Indigenous is a youth art showcase featuring artists ages 12–25 who identify as Indigenous.

Presented in partnership with Denver Healing Generations Network, the exhibition is on view through January 9, 2026, in the Wonderscape.

Annual Showcases

Denver Public Schools Citywide Elementary School Art Showcase

Late Spring, annually

The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Citywide Art Shows are annual events featuring elementary school artists from across Denver. The elementary school showcase includes artists from grade levels ECE to 5th grade and aims to broaden students’ artistic experiences and share diverse perspectives through community-based partnerships. This showcase is an opportunity to celebrate students and their unique artistic voices. Artists are encouraged to think critically and create imaginatively while developing technical and investigative skills in their art making.

Colorado Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Showcase

Fall, annually

Since 2022, the DAM has displayed artworks from the students selected by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the Martin Building's Wonderscape. Thousands of Colorado youth enter an average of 5,000 pieces of art each year. Through the process of blind adjudication, exhibitions of award-winning work, recognition, and awarding of scholarships on the state and national levels, students have opportunities that would not be possible without this program.

The Scholastic Awards open for entries in September of each year. Deadlines are determined by region. Visit the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for more details.

Indomitably Indigenous

Winter, annually

Since 2022, the DAM has hosted the Indomitably Indigenous community showcase that celebrates the identities and talents of emerginig Indigenous artists from the Denver metro area. Each year, the DAM partners with a different organization within Denver’s Native American and Indigenous-identifying communities. Past partners have been the Colorado Native Cultural Enrichment Program, Denver Indian Center, Inc., and Spirit of the Sun's Youth Media Hub.

Indigenous-identifying youth artists, ages 12-25 are invited to submit their artwork each year. Please check back in September for more information.
