Untitled (Battle Scene)
- Nicole Eisenman, American, French, 1965
- Born: Verdun-sur-Garonne, France
- Work Locations: New York, NY
In nearly all of her paintings, drawings, and installations, Nicole Eisenman relentlessly, but humorously, explores issues of sexual politics.
Untitled (Battle Scene) shows a writhing swarm of women attacking one another — no longer victims as in the famous Peter Paul Rubens painting, The Rape of the Sabine Women, but rather as perpetrators of their own self-destruction.
