Celebración del Día del Niño/Día del Niño Celebration

Abril, mes de diversión, tradición y cultura en el DAM.

Todos los días son motivo de celebración en el Denver Art Museum, donde la entrada general siempre es gratuita para los menores de 18 años de edad.

Los invitamos a que nos acompañen a ¡todo un día de danza, música y actividades que celebran a todos los niños del mundo!, durante las festividades del Día del Niño el domingo 28 de abril a partir de las 10 de la mañana.

Los festejos darán comienzo, con danzas de los Chinelos, cuyos bellos trajes bordados con lentejuelas y máscaras tradicionales representan la tradición del estado de Morelos.

Le siguen la Danza Matachina Guadalupana, con lucidos trajes y danzas significativas de la flora y la fauna del estado de Coahuila.

En el auditorio podrán disfrutar de ARCINDA, que presentarán danzas y música en vivo proveniente de Indonesia.

El arte y cultura de México se verá representado con el arte y danza de Crisol Dance de Guadalajara, que de manera exclusiva presentarán en el DAM el espectáculo de Balam, el último guerrero jaguar.

Uno de nuestros invitados especiales es el fabuloso Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklórico, cuyas danzas regionales son, además de bellas, representativas del arte tradicional de México.

El Grupo Folklórico México en la Piel, también ofrecerá lo mejor de sus danzas tradicionales.

El público gozará además de la música de Zacatecas, Durango y Chihuahua interpretada por estudiantes de la Nueva Escuela de Música, de la ciudad de Aurora.

El Mariachi Corazón de Oro y grupos del Colorado Youth Mariachi Program compartirán su bellas canciones.

Las escuelas de Denver estarán representadas en las maravillosas voces de los niños del coro Timberline del Denver Children’s Choir.

Nuevamente este año, Montebello Drumline se presentarán con sus ritmos coordinados al compás de sus tambores.

Las familias tendrán oportunidad de retratarse (y compartir las fotos en sus medios sociales) en el museo frente a una decoración presentada por el artista Norberto Morjardin y que celebra a los niños en su día.

El artista Tony Ortega hará demostraciones del aguafuerte solar coloreado a mano en el Estudio.

En la Plaza, chicos y grandes podrán jugar rayuela (o avión) diseñada por el artista Adolfo Romero.

Celebridades locales leerán en inglés y en español el libro ganador del concurso Un Libro Colorado, y regalarán ejemplares a los niños que estén presentes.

Personal del Consulado General de México estará presente para recibir los dibujos hechos por los niños para su participación en el concurso internacional de dibujo Este es mi México.

April is filled with fun, tradition, and culture at the Denver Art Museum.

Every day provides us with a reason to celebrate at the DAM, where general admission is always free for kids 18 and younger.

During the celebration of Día del Niño (Day of the Child) on Sunday, April 28 be prepared to enjoy free admission (even for adults) and a diversity of live music, dance, and activities. Bring your entire family to celebrate all the children from around the world!

Festivities start at 10 am with dances from the state of Morelos, Mexico, with the Chinelos, whose beautiful embroidered costumes and traditional masks are always a beautiful component of the celebration.

They are followed by the Danza Matachina Guadalupana, with colorful costumes and dances that celebrate the flora and fauna of the state of Coahuila.

In the auditorium, the live music and dances from Indonesia performed by ARCINDA will delight your family.

Crisol Dance, will travel from Guadalajara, Mexico to present exclusively in Denver the performance of the story Balam: The Last Jaguar Warrior.

The fabulous Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklórico, whose regional dances are, besides being beautiful, also representative of traditional Mexican art.

The Grupo Folklórico México en la Piel also will offer the best of its traditional dances. Students of the New School of Music will interpret the music from Zacatecas, Durango, and Chihuahua.

The Mariachi Corazón de Oro and the Colorado Youth Mariachi Program will share their beautiful songs as well.

Also, enjoy the wonderful voices of the Timberline Choir from the Denver Children's Choir.

This year, the Montebello Drumline will delight the public with their rhythms coordinated to the beat of their drums.

Families will have the opportunity to take pictures (and share them in social media) with an amazing background created by the artist Norberto Mojardin.

Artist Tony Ortega will be in the Print Studio demonstrating hand–colored solar etchings.

On Martin Plaza, children and adults are invited to play hopscotch designed by the artist Adolfo Romero.

Local celebrities will read in English and Spanish the winning selection of One Book Colorado, and will offer complimentary books to children in attendance.

Staff of the Consulate General of Mexico will be present to receive drawings made by children to enter the international drawing contest Éste es mi México (This is my Mexico).
