Bring Dad to the Denver Art Museum for Father's Day

According to recent studies, people value experiences more than things. Dads say they’d rather spend time with their kids than get another tie for Father’s Day.

If dad is an art lover, a trip to the Denver Art Museum for Father’s Day is a no-brainer.

See The Western

Film and history buffs will find much to enjoy in The Western: An Epic in Art and Film, the “enlightening and entertaining*” exhibition now on view.

The Western connects fine art, pop culture, and film in an innovative way to show how the Western genre has evolved over the years.

A fun father-son fact to share with pa or grandpa when you see N.C. Wyeth’s painting Gunfight in The Western: The museum also has his son Andrew’s painting Rough Hauling in our collection.

Youth 18 and under see this exhibition for free. Tickets for The Western are $5 for member adults. Tickets for nonmember adults are $15 for Colorado residents and $18 for non-residents. Admission to The Western includes admission to the rest of the museum. Other exhibitions on view that dad might like.

Capture the Moment

The Hamilton Building and the North Building have lots of interesting places for “ussies” with dad and the whole family. If you share photos of your museum fun online, use the hashtag #SummerintheWest.

Father’s Day Gifts

You can give dad the gift of experience with a gift membership that will allow him to receive free general admission and discounted admission to special, ticketed exhibitions for a year.

And in The Shop in the Hamilton Building, we’ve got lots of souvenirs and gear that dads will enjoy, including bike accessories, wallets with phone chargers, art books, cowboy hats, watches, and, yes, ties.
