Programs and special events families can enjoy in fall 2026
On September 12, join us for dancing, drums, Native American food and crafts, and so much more at the Denver Art Museum's 37th Annual Friendship Powwow.
October 26 through November 4 commemorate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the DAM with Momentos de Memoria. Pick up and place colorful paper skulls near artworks that remind you of someone or something you lost—transforming the museum into a participatory ofrenda celebrating art, grief, remembrance, and joy.
Do you have a child who is neurodiverse or has sensory-processing issues? Bring them to Sensory-Friendly Morning to visit the museum in a safe and fun way. The museum opens early at 9 am, dims the lights, and provides tools to guide a sensory-friendly experience for the whole family. The next Sensory-Friendly Morning is October 11 from 9 am to 12 pm.
Also on October 11, November 8, and December 13 at 10:30 am and again at 11:30 am, the family-favorite Foxy and Shmoxy: Art Detectives is back! Young children will love these two silly foxes who solve mysterious cases involving artworks in the museum’s collection. Using a humorous storytelling format, Foxy and Shmoxy help kids access and experience art in unique ways.
On October 15, November 19, and December 17 10 am to 12 pm, the DAM hosts Create & Play. This early-childhood program includes fun performances, artmaking, and in-gallery activities for families with children ages 0-5.

(Even in one of the bathrooms. When you wash your hands in the bathroom on level 2 of the Sie Welcome Center, the sinks sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" as part of an installation called Singing Sinks by Colorado artist Jim Green.)
In the Hamilton Building you'll find modern and contemporary art, arts of Africa, and European and American art from the 1800s.
In the Martin Building, families can explore design, Indigenous art, Latin American art, fashion, photography, and western American art.
The Kirkland features the work of Vance Kirkland, international decorative arts, and fine art by Colorado artists.
