I Follow Rivers: Indigenous Worlds in Latin America opens at the Denver Art Museum on November 8, 2026, and will be on view through July 27, 2027. This exhibition explores the profound resilience and evolving cultural landscapes of Indigenous peoples and artists throughout Latin America. I Follow Rivers is included with general admission, which is free for members.

2. Don’t miss these special events
On September 12, join us for dancing, drums, Native American food and crafts, and so much more at the Denver Art Museum's 37th Annual Friendship Powwow.
On October 9, 6:30–8 pm, enjoy a special four-course dinner with wine pairings at The Ponti restaurant.
October 26 through November 4 commemorate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the DAM with Momentos de Memoria. Pick up and place colorful paper skulls near artworks that remind you of someone or something you lost—transforming the museum into a participatory ofrenda celebrating art, grief, remembrance, and joy.

On November 7, SCFD Free Day and Night at the Museums general admission will be free and the DAM will be open late until 10 pm. On SCFD Free Days, adult tickets to DIVA are $15.
3. Kick off Halloween weekend at Untitled: Artist Takeover
The Denver Art Museum has partnered with Mother Valentino Flora to host the SpooKiKi Ball at the October 30th Untitled: Artist Takeover. Start Halloween off in style and come in costume (no face coverings allowed) and enjoy artmaking, a pop-up bar, and the SpooKiKi Ball. At the SpooKiKi Ball you can watch participants compete in different categories, each with their own themes tied to the DIVA exhibition. Categories span from fashion and beauty to performance and aesthetics, with judges, commentators, music, and an audience all contributing to the celebration. Get ready to feel high energy, creativity, and community! Untitled: Artist Takeover is included with general admission. DIVA requires an additional admission ticket.
4. Dive deep into DIVA
This fall the DAM offers a number of other fun and illuminating events inspired by DIVA including the following. Check the calendar for the full list of programs and events at the DAM related to DIVA and beyond.
On October 2, 7:30–10:30 pm, members of CultureHaus are invited to a special party to celebrate the opening of the exhibition. Join CultureHaus for the opportunity to be part of this elevated evening and participate in exclusive events throughout the year.
On October 3, 11 am–noon, hear from the curators about the making of the show.
On select Tuesday evenings during DIVA (October 20, November 10, December 1, and January 12), the DAM will be hosting DIVA After Dark, featuring live entertainment, a pop-up bar, and a photo op designed for your moment in the spotlight. Cocktails, mocktails, and light snacks will be available for purchase.
In November (Nov. 7 & Nov. 14), DIVA: The Art of Music, a two-week Creative Class, will explore works from the museum's collection and the exhibition.
5. Learn something new
Creative Classes for adults are one-day workshops or classes that last two weeks, four weeks, or six weeks. Creative Classes go on sale November 12 for Museum Friends, November 13 for museum members, and November 14 for the public. Creative Classes run January through May. Expert instructors will lead classes in crocheting, painting, drawing, papermaking, and many more disciplines. No experience necessary!
On September 26 ,11 am–noon, collector and editor Dung Ngo and Darrin Alfred, Curator of Architecture and Design, will be in conversation about what makes flatware extraordinary.
On September 29, 6-7:30 pm, the DAM will host a screening of the film Bring Them Home, which tells the story of the Blackfeet people striving to reestablish wild buffalo on tribal land.
On October 13, 6-7 pm, learn about two wedding portraits by Rembrandt at a lecture with a specialist in seventeeth-century Dutch paintings.
On October 20, 6-7 pm, join us for a conversation with artist David Huffman.
On October 23 and 24, the DAM will hold the 25th Annual Mayer Center Symposium spanning ancient and colonial topics in Latin American art.
