START HERE: Welcome Freaks (Hamilton Building, Level 1 Atrium)

Welcome to the spectacle. It’s a different kind of night with a different set of rules. Learn about the evening and get your VIP Crip Card to get started.

SPECTACLES: Not-to-miss moments happening throughout the evening. Participate in 3 experiences to get VIP seating at the Main Event. 6-8 pm. All spectacles are ongoing unless otherwise noted with*

  • FIX your FACE, INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE, Hamilton Building, Level 4 Atrium
    • Want to look your best for the night? Get ready with a little makeup from our friends.
  • Fit In”: Freak Fashion, INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE, Level 3, Modern & Contemporary Gallery
    • Meet with the Stylist to make sure you “fit in” for the evening.
  • Take a Picture, It Lasts Longer, INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE, Hamilton Building, Level 3 galleries
    • Sit to have your photograph taken.
  • Crip Offbeat Art Tour, ART TOUR, Hamilton Building, Level 2 galleries*
    • Relating Gustave Doré’s The Family of Street Acrobats: The Injured Child to past and current real-world barriers for people with disabilities. *Note: Tours start every 30 minutes, beginning at 6:30 pm

DROP-IN SPIRIT SPACE: Artmaking and Offerings for Those Not Here.

  • Crip Offering, ARTMAKING, Martin Building, Level 1, Creative Hub*
    • Make an offering for those we have lost or those who are still here. Decorate ghost white mobility aids, wheelchair parts, or add your own creation.. *From 6-8 pm
  • Crip Remembrance, TEMPORARY TATTOOS, Martin Building, Level 1, Sky Blue Workshop
    • DIY temporary tattoos in remembrance of disabled icons. *From 6-9:30pm
  • Crip Communion, CULINARY CREATIVE, Martin Building, Level 1, Ruby Red Workshop*
    • Take communion from the catheter. *From 6-8 pm

THE BIG EVENT: Final performances for the evening.

  • Get Married and Lose Medicaid, PERFORMANCE, Martin Building, Level 2
    • Attend the ceremony plus reception performance by Wheelchair Sports Camp. VIP seating for visitors with a full Crip Card. *From 8:30-9:30 pm
  • Icebreaker: Designing for Accessibility
    • Join our efforts to make the Denver Art Museum more accessible by sharing your thoughts: What would it look like if a museum not only welcomed people with disabilities but truly celebrated them?

ART INSTALLATIONS: Plus one-night-only installed artwork by Untitled creatives!

  • Everyone Stairs by Wheelchair Sports Camp, 2025, Live performance art
    • Part 1, Hamilton Building, Level 1, Grand staircase
    • Part 2, Hamilton Building, Level 3 & 4, Modern & Contemporary Galleries
      • Inspired by the “Capitol Crawl”, a pivotal protest on March 12, 1990, where activists with disabilities crawled up the steps of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., to advocate for the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Viral Video – Kalyn drives while eating burrito, by Wheelchair Sports Camp, filmed by Gregg Ziemba, 2024, Martin Building, Level 1, Creative Hub
