Public Tours
Public tours are back! These 45-minute tours explore exhibition themes and works of art through close looking and conversation. Tours are available for select exhibitions; tours are currently available for Composing Color: Paintings by Alma Thomas from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and tours for Dawoud Bey: Street Portraits begin November 17.
These tours are offered daily at 1:30 pm. To join a tour, look for the docent in the lobby of the Hamilton Building. If you are visiting with a group larger than 10, consider booking a group tour.

Architecture Tours
Free architecture tours are offered the second Saturday of every month at 11am. Explore the dynamic character of the Denver Art Museum on these 60-minute public tours.
To join a tour, look for the docent in the lobby of the Hamilton Building. If you are visiting with a group larger than 10, consider booking a group tour.
Group Tours
The museum welcomes adult and college groups to request a guided group tour of the museum’s collections and special exhibitions. The group must be at least 10 guests, with a maximum of 40. Please make your request at least three weeks in advance.
Field Trips
Field Trips for schools explore human creativity from multiple lenses and entry points, engaging students in hands-on activities and lively, thought-provoking conversations.
Available tours are based on themes and the museum's collections and special exhibitions. Artmaking workshops or self-guided tours can be added to supplement the visit.
Access Tours
Led by a docent with special training in engaging visitors with disabilities, these 60-minute tours explore the museum’s collection galleries and special exhibitions. Designed to be interactive and accessible, choose a tour that best meets your needs:
- Group Art and About Tour: Designed to engage adults with memory loss and groups from memory-care communities.
- Verbal Description and Tactile Tour: Designed for visitors who are blind or have low-vision, tours incorporate verbal description and tactile objects.
- Custom Access Tour: Designed to engage adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities.
- Self-Guided Tour: Groups can explore the museum on their own, without a guide.

Spotlight Talks are short, pop-up conversations across the museum focusing on a specific artwork. Dozens of specially trained docents are available to answer your questions and share the stories behind these artworks.
