Creative Aging Forum

Research indicates that consistent engagement with the arts, encompassing both creative expression and artistic experiences, can significantly enhance the health and overall wellness of older adults. Creative Aging initiatives harness the power of the arts to empower individuals aged 55 and above, cultivating an enriched sense of purpose, fostering stronger community bonds, and rekindling an enthusiasm for continued learning.

The Creative Aging Forum creates a space for individuals and organizations interested in creative aging to surface questions, engage in discussion, share resources, find collaborations, and discover the latest opportunities in the fields of creative aging, health and wellness. Meeting are held quarterly, with rotating topics.

Creative Aging Forum meetings are a recurring chance to dive into in-depth discussions on pivotal subjects in the realm of programming for older adults. Immerse yourself in interactive activities designed to ignite creativity and mindfulness, cultivating inspiration and encouraging a more deliberate pace. These gatherings are more than just meetings; they're a platform for participants to connect, fostering networking opportunities that lay the groundwork for exciting potential collaborations. Join us and be a part of this dynamic space where exploration, innovation, and connections flourish.

There are three meetings annually. Dates in 2025 include January 15, April 16, and July 16. These meetings are held in person from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the Garden Room on level 1 of the Martin Building. There is also an option to join virtually over Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.

The Creative Aging Convening is a once-a-year gathering designed for practitioners working in aging-services organizations, arts centers, museums, healthcare, senior residences, and beyond to learn together through deep conversation and hands on learning.

The next Convening will be held September 24, 2024, from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
