Edgardo Giménez has designed posters advertising the visual arts, theaters, and dance companies throughout his entire career. This example, from 1981, was made for the Teatro Municipal General San Martín’s festival of Argentian humor in Buenos Aires. The festival hosted various local artists and performers such as Hermenegildo Sábat, Guillermo Mordillo, and Roberto Fontanarrosa. Through his typical surrealist lens, Giménez uses collage and bold colors to present Pierrot standing on a flying carpet.
