Other People’s Pictures: Gifts from the Robert and Kerstin Adams Collection (Fotografías de otras personas: Obras selectas de la Colección de Robert y Kerstin Adams) explora las relaciones recíprocas entre artistas y su intercambio creativo de objetos, también analiza temas como el coleccionismo, el placer de la observación y la manera en que los diversos puntos de vista interactúan para conformar distintas perspectivas.

La exposición está conformada por más de 70 obras fotográficas seleccionadas a partir de una colección donada al DAM por Robert y Kerstin Adams en 2018. A través de temáticas fotográficas como el paisaje y la recreación, la gente y los lugares, las fuerzas de la naturaleza, los momentos de pausa y la ética, la fe y la memoria, Other People’s Pictures invita a los visitantes a contemplar su propia conexión con los objetos, lugares y personas de su vida y a reflexionar sobre la manera en que los fotógrafos logran plasmar dichos vínculos.

Publications

This publication highlights photographs given by Robert and Kerstin Adams to the Denver Art Museum. Throughout his own career, Robert Adams has documented and explored the complexities of the American West. He and his wife, Kerstin, began collecting photographs by others—from the early 1900s to today—that testify to lifelong interests, friendships, and unexpected surprises. Essays by museum staff and photographers represented in the collection accompany each photograph and explore moments of familiarity, humor, masterful skill, and awe.
