About the Educator

Samara Johnson was born and raised in Moose Pass, Alaska. The experiences of being raised in Alaska inspires her use of organic materials, including wool. She believes that by creating these vessels and works of art as a community, through the touch of the wool, we can all connect deeper to the emotional intelligence of animals and to the communities of artists that come before us. Now living in Colorado, she is thrilled to be able to continue her work with animals and organic mediums in art. Samara Johnson holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting and a BA in French from Sonoma State University. In May 2020, she completed her MFA in Drawing and Painting at University of Colorado at Boulder.
