Update: Teachers, we have received an overwhelming number of applications and have already granted all art kits. Please feel free to complete the application to be included on a waiting list if we are able to produce and distribute additional art supplies. Denver Art Museum is here for you--as a source of support, inspiration and entertainment to keep you feeling creative and connected. Thank you for all you do!
Teachers, we heard you loud and clear! After scores of inquiries about Denver Art Museum's Art Lives Here Creativity Kits, we were able to secure generous funding from Bellco Credit Union, Gayle and Gary Landis, and the Boyer family to assemble and distribute loads of free kits of art supplies—3,000 in fact. These art kits will be available to public and charter school educators teaching in SCFD districts.
The art supplies are intended for elementary-age students and include scissors (suitable for left-handed as well as right-handed children), white glue, colored pencils, watercolor palette with brush, and modeling clay.
We know inequity persists in our schools and communities. Denver Art Museum is hopeful the kits will allow you to share supplies with students on free or reduced lunch or those participating in distance learning to explore new techniques and experience the joy and connectivity of artmaking.
Interested in applying to receive art kits? Please complete the application. We will begin reviewing applications and sending notifications on Wednesday, October 21. Kits will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available for pick up starting Wednesday, October 28.
As always, we are interested in hearing from you and gathering feedback about our programs. We are extending an opportunity to participate in a brief evaluative project to help us better plan future school and community programs. Please consider volunteering to take part on the application form.
