Program
Día del Niño programming includes the following activities:
- In Sharp Auditorium, ARCINDA (Arts & Culture of Indonesia) will present a musical and dance performance and later in the afternoon, a Shadow Puppet show in the Asian Galleries of the Martin Building; James Walsh, UCD Political Science Professor will present a monologue as an Irish miner from 1880 Leadville; the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA) will present a selection of films created by young artists.
- In the Cosmic Studio, families can interact with artist Lilian Lara at work.
- In the Creative Hub, Museo de las Américas will offer Create Fuzzy Amigos for children (and their grownups); CSU Spur will host science trivia games (with prizes); Crea Results & Denver Water will have a fun activity to create awareness about how water travels from the mountains to our homes.
- In Sturm Grand Pavilion, we will enjoy amazing performances that showcase the talent and ingenuity of children, among them the Q ²C³ (The Curiously Crafty Quest of Quintessential Coders) Robotics Team in collaboration with the FIRST® Robotics Competition Team 3729, while Girls Inc will present a performance called Watch Us Change the World. In addition, audiences will be delighted with musical performances featuring the choral voices of the Sandoval Singers from Academia Ana Marie Sandoval and those from the Denver Children’s Choir. Students from El Sistema Colorado, Swallow Hill Music, and the Colorado Youth Mariachi Program will delight audiences with vibrant musical selections.
- Other performances include: the DAM’s Friendship Powwow Dancers; Comparsa Morelos; Danza Matachina Guadalupana, along with dances that will showcase folkloric traditions from Mexico, Peru, Panama, Colombia, as well as the Colorado New Style with their energetic dances from other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean.
- The Denver Preschool Program (DPP) will invite two local celebrities to read the book What Will We Build Today? by Katherine Durgin-Bruce (in English and Spanish), and children in attendance will receive a free copy of the book to take home, while supplies last.
Additionally, the festivities include free access to the entire museum campus (the Hamilton Building, the Martin Building, and The Kirkland), with their permanent collections as well as the following temporary exhibitions:

In The Kirkland:
El Día del Niño y los Días Gratis en el DAM son posibles gracias a los residentes que apoyan al Distrito de Organizaciones Científicas y Culturales (SCFD, por sus siglas en inglés). Día del Niño 2026 cuenta con el apoyo de AICEF (the American Indonesian Cultural and Education Foundation), ARCINDA (the Arts and Culture of Indonesia) y Colorado Creative Industries, Museo de las Américas, Swallow Hill Music, DAVA (Downtown Aurora Visual Arts), Girls Inc., El Sistema Colorado, Denver Children's Choir, el Consulado General de México en Denver, el Denver Preschool Program, KBNO Radio, el Centro Cultural Mexicano, y CSU Spur. La comida para los artistas del Día del Niño la proporciona Spicy Mexican Food.
