Here’s what you need to know for your next trip to the museum

Tips for Your Next Visit

We're so glad to welcome you to the Denver Art Museum! The museum is a safe space open to everyone, so please be kind to your fellow visitors to ensure a positive experience for all.

For the best availability, we encourage visitors to book your tickets in advance. While at the museum, we recommend visitors download the Bloomberg Connects app to enhance their experience in the galleries.

Don't Touch

Please refrain from touching the art.

Ask for a Guide

If you need help navigating the museum or deciding what to see next, pick up one of our visitor guides at the visitor services desk.

Food and Drink

Food and drink is not allowed inside the galleries. Please enjoy food and drink, including water, in the atriums and lower levels only.

Bags

Average school sized backpacks (17 x 13 and 6 to 8 inches in depth) are allowed. Oversized bags are not allowed in gallery spaces (barring an exception for medical needs). Please store larger oversized bags in one of our lockers, located on level 1 and lower level of each building.

Accessible

Strollers and wheelchairs are available on a first come, first serve basis at the visitor services desk. Strollers and wheelchairs are cleaned after each use.

Seating

If you require an additional seating option during your visit, we have portable stools available throughout the museum. Stools will be cleaned after each use.

Drawing/Sketching

Write or sketch with a pencil, but please do not use pens, markers, or other utensils in the galleries.

Photos

Non-flash photography is allowed in galleries and public spaces. You will see on the gallery door or object label if photography is not allowed.

Filming

Personal videography is allowed in the museum. The museum often photographs and films onsite programs for use on promotional materials. If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed, please inform a staff member.

Ask for Help

Our staff and volunteers are here to help. Please ask anyone wearing a rainbow lanyard if you have any questions or concerns during your visit.

No Smoking

The museum is a smoke-free environment. Smoking and vaping is prohibited anywhere inside the museum buildings.

Safe Space

The museum is a safe space that welcomes everyone. Disruptive and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Thank you for contributing to a positive experience for all at the museum.
