About Teen Studio
Teen Studio offers teens a dynamic, museum-based art experience at the Denver Art Museum. Through guided gallery exploration and hands-on studio projects, participants experiment with materials, tackle creative challenges, and build skills while developing their own artistic voice in a program designed specifically for teens.

Teen Workshops
Story in Focus (for ages 12-14)
July 13–17, 9:30 am–3:30 pm
Use photography to tell a story your way. You’ll experiment with framing, sequencing, and point of view while looking at how artists use images to capture people, moments, and ideas. Inspired by What We’ve Been Up To: People and other works in the museum, you’ll create a photo series that builds a narrative across multiple images.
Beyond the Brush (for ages 12-14)
July 20–24, 9:30 am–3:30 pm
Break the rules of painting! This workshop is all about experimenting with color, texture, and materials beyond traditional painting. You’ll explore mixed media techniques, layer unexpected materials, and take inspiration from artists like Cornelius Annor and Susan Wick while figuring out what works through trial, error, and process.
Worn, Made, Remade (for ages 15-17)
July 27–31, 9:30 am–3:30 pm
Fashion is more than trends, it’s expression. In this hands-on studio workshop, you’ll experiment with textiles, construction, and surface design while exploring how clothing can communicate identity, culture, and ideas. Inspired by the museum’s collection and the upcoming exhibition DIVA, you’ll design and remake wearable or fiber-based works that reflect your perspective.
