2023 Summer Camps
From June 5 to August 11, ignite your child’s inner artist with the Denver Art Museum’s summer camp offerings. These weeklong day camps encourage kids to get inspired by the DAM collection and to create their own art. This year, campers can sign up to practice their sketchbook skills, explore the intersection of art and nature, design a museum-inspired play, and more!

Camps take place under the care of skilled teachers and teaching artists. Each camp includes time in the galleries as well artmaking in the workshop, providing campers with the opportunity to engage with art in a variety of ways.
The DAM offers one full scholarships per camp. Students are chosen based upon their interest in art, how much they would benefit from the program, and the financial needs of the family. As of March 8, the scholarship application has closed.
Please note that camps are non-refundable after registration, and scholarships cannot be retroactively applied. Because of this, it’s best to either register for camp or apply for a scholarship. Ticket prices
Full day camps are $350 for members and $380 for non-members.
Please be aware limited spaces are available. To ensure the chance to register for your top choice, become a member to access early registration. Learn more about DAM memberships and join today.
Registration
Please have the following information and payment method at the time of registration:
- Name and phone number of child’s doctor
- Insurance company name and policy number
- List of child’s allergies and other needs
- Your current email address and cell phone number
- Emergency contact information
- List of authorized pick-ups for your child
Scholarships
The Denver Art Museum offers one full scholarship per camp. Students are chosen based upon their interest in art, how much they would benefit from the program, and the financial needs of the family. Learn more and apply today.
Meals and Snacks
Campers are required to bring their lunch every day. Pack a lunch with a cool pack as heating and refrigeration are not available. Please pack nut-free lunches to respect other campers with nut sensitivities.
A snack will be provided but please feel free to pack your own snacks as well, especially if your child has any dietary restrictions. All children are required to bring their own water bottle.
Camp Safety
The DAM cares about the health and safety of your camper. We will be monitoring and following public health guidelines from the City and County of Denver for camps. To help us all stay healthy, face coverings may be required for campers, except during snacks and meals. Frequent hand-washing is also encouraged.

Camps for Ages 5-6
Play with Patterns
June 5-9 │ 9:30 am–3:30 pm
From Navajo weavings to Chinese ceramics, there are patterns everywhere! We’ll use see how many patterns we can find in the galleries and create our own back in the workshop.

Art & Nature
June 12-16 │ 9:30 am–3:30 pm
From materials to inspiration, nature shows up in art in all kinds of ways. This week, we’ll think about the connection between art and the environment as we explore the galleries. By the end of the week, you’ll be able to take home some earth-inspired artwork of your own!

Around the World in Art
June 20-23 │ 9:30 am–3:30 pm
This week, we’ll travel around the world without even leaving the museum. We’ll learn about all different kinds of places through artwork and let them inspire us back in the workshop! Note: This will be a 4-day week camp in observence of the Juneteenth holiday.

Color Pop!

Color surrounds us, but we don’t always notice its effect on our world. This week, we will slow down and think about how artists use color to express their feelings and ideas. Explore the galleries, get creative in the studio, and fall down the rainbow rabbit hole!

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! This week, get to know the animals in the DAM’s collection, then make art inspired by our furry friends back in the workshop. Be sure to have your safari hats and binoculars ready for this adventure!

Take a deeper dive into this artist tool and fill your sketchbook with various drawing and sketching techniques. Campers will explore the museum collections and see where their doodles take them!

Learn how to think like a designer and practice skills like observation, brainstorming, prototyping, and testing. Get inspired in the galleries, put on your designer hat (and your artist one!), and create wonderfully unique artwork.
