This armchair might remind you of colorful, buoyant balloons—lightweight, elastic, and fragile. However, Seungjin Yang’s process transforms them into something far more enduring. Yang begins by inflating individual balloons to the desired shape, then applies eight layers of epoxy resin to each one. With each layer taking six to seven hours to dry, the result is a solid, glass-like surface. This meticulous process turns a fleeting object into long-lasting furniture, challenging our expectations of both material and form.
