Lampampe Lamp

The Lampampe lamp is a continuation of German lighting designer Ingo Maurer’s expressive experimentation with paper, which he has called "the most becoming of all materials," because "it is strong and soft at the same time and it makes people look better." Lampampe represents a lighthearted reinvention of a common form - the cylindrical table lamp with its shade - constructed entirely from handmade Japanese paper. The whole lamp glows with a soft light, eliminating the functional distinction between the lamp’s base and shade.
