- Marc Quinn, British, 1964
- Born: London, England
- Work Locations: London, England
Marc Quinn is interested in the concept of normality as it relates to the human body. He says, “The world is so weird that you don’t have to make things up, you just find things.” (The Guardian, Saturday, May 1, 2010.) Though Quinn is known for his three dimensional work, his drawings delicately reveal another aspect of his classical training. The unassuming sketch of a boxed-in vase of flowers (“Untitled,” 1998) inspired a series of sculptures made from live flowers, which were then preserved in liquid silicone. (DAM Companion Guide to “Focus: The Figure.”)
Marc Quinn attended Cambridge University where he studied History and History of Art. He currently lives and works in London.
