Richard Tallbull, Sr. was a sub chief of the Cheyenne Dog Soldier Society and a prominent member of the Denver Indian community for many years. His great grandfather was famed Chief Tall Bull, the leader of the Dog Soldier Society in the mid-1800s who was killed in 1869 in the Battle of Summit Springs. Richard made this beaded staff.
