Vine Tangle I
- Winter Prather, American, 1926-2005
- Work Locations: Denver, CO
Starting with the exact same negative, Prather created this dark, mysterious print that draws the eye deep into the picture’s space and a second, much lighter print (1992.155.10) in which the lines and tones form a dense web of white marks that the eye cannot penetrate. Together, the two photographs illustrate that how a photographer decides to print a negative can result in strikingly different images.
