Vine Tangle II
- Winter Prather, American, 1926-2005
- Work Locations: Denver, CO
Starting with the exact same negative, Prather created one dark, mysterious print (1992.155.9) that draws the eye deep into the picture’s space and this second, much lighter print in which the lines and tones form a dense web of white marks that the eye cannot penetrate. Together, the two photographs illustrate that how a photographer decides to print a negative can result in strikingly different images.
