¡Fabuloso 2019 en el DAM! / Fabulous 2019 at the DAM!

Al despedirnos del 2018, reflexionamos acerca de las experiencias y recuerdos que creamos con nuestros seres queridos al disfrutar de las colecciones y actividades del Denver Art Museum, donde la admisión es siempre GRATUITA para niños y jóvenes de hasta 18 años años de edad.

Ganesha: el protector juguetón, a la vista hasta el 13 de enero. El corazón de la exposición es una estatua de Ganesha creada entre 600 y 700, en préstamo por el Museo Nacional de Camboya en Phnom Penh.

Ojos en: Shimabuku, a la vista hasta el 3 de febrero, presenta un video titulado ¿Los monos de nieve recuerdan las montañas de nieve? que documenta la sorprendente adaptación de un grupo de monos de nieve que fueron traídos de su hogar en Japón a una reserva en el desierto en Texas en 1972.

Dior: de París al mundo, a la vista hasta el 3 de marzo, es una fabulosa exposición que presenta 70 años del legado de la Casa Dior y su influencia en todo el mundo. Los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de admirar de cerca una selección de más de 200 vestidos de alta costura, abrigos y accesorios y de escuchar el audioguía en inglés o en español, en version para niños o para adultos.

Estampida: animals en el arte, a la vista hasta el 19 de mayo, es una exposición que no se deben perder, con más de 300 obras de arte que representan animales de todo el mundo y de diferentes épocas, dentro de la amplia gama de la colección enciclopédica del Denver Art Museum.

El efecto de incubación, instalación interactiva en el museo hasta el 9 de septiembre. La artista de Denver, Nicole Anona Banowetz, inspirada en la naturaleza, creó un gigantesco "vivero de insectos" hecho de esculturas inflables cosidas y formas ensambladas.

Jordan Casteel: devolviendo la mirada

Esta es la primera exposición de museo importante de la artista nacida en Denver, Jordan Casteel. Los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de explorar el trabajo único de una de las artistas emergentes más aclamadas de nuestros días.

Tesoros del arte británico: la colección Berger

Inicia el 2 de marzo de 2019

Esta exposición presentará más de 60 pinturas donadas al museo por el Berger Collection Educational Trust (BCET) en 2018. Las obras van desde el siglo XV hasta finales del siglo XIX, y relatan acerca de la rica historia cultural de Britania.

Claude Monet: la verdad de la naturaleza

Esta muy esperada exposición presentará más de 100 pinturas que abarcan la carrera de Claude Monet, afamado artista del Impresionismo francés.

Looking forward to amazing exhibitions at the Denver Art Museum in 2019

As we say goodbye to 2018, it is time to reflect on exciting experiences and new memories we created with our loved ones while making art or enjoying exhibitions at the Denver Art Museum, where admission is always FREE for children and youth up to 18 years of age.

Last chance to see amazing art:

Ganesha: The Playful Protector, on view through January 13. The heart of the exhibition is a statue of Ganesha created between 600 and 700, loaned by the National Museum of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

Closing later in the year:

Eyes On: Shimabuku, on view through February 3, presents a video titled Do snow monkeys remember snow mountains? that documents the surprising adaptation of a group of snow monkeys that were brought from their home in Japan to a desert sanctuary in Texas in 1972.

Dior: From Paris to the World, on view through March 3, is a stunning exhibition that presents 70 years of the House of Dior’s enduring legacy and its influence around the world. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire a selection of more than 200 couture dresses, coats, costume jewelry, and accessories up-close. The exhibition includes an audio tour in English or Spanish, in two versions, one for children and another one for adults.

Stampede: Animals in Art, on view through May 19, is a not-to-be-missed exhibition that brings together over 300 works of art that depict animals from around the world that span time periods and the range of the Denver Art Museum encyclopedic collection.

The Incubation Effect, on view through September 9, inspired by the natural world of insects, Denver artist Nicole Anona Banowetz created a gigantic “insect nursery” made from sewn inflatable sculptures and assembled forms.

Treasures of British Art: The Berger Collection

Opens March 2, 2019

This exhibition will present more than 60 paintings gifted to the museum by the Berger Collection Educational Trust (BCET) in 2018. The works range from the 1400s through the late 1800s, telling the story of Britain’s rich cultural history.

The much-anticipated exhibition will feature more than 100 paintings by the French impressionist artist. The Denver Art Museum will be home to this important exhibition that spans Monet’s entire career.
