Guiding Questions

  • How can you encourage students to think about things in their life that they use at home versus at school?
  • Are some of these things used at both home and school? Or only at one location?
  • Do some of these items have more than one use or purpose in their lives?
  • Encourage students to interview a family member about objects that they use at home, work, or both

Tip: Have students choose a few objects that they use at home, school, or both and find a creative way to display these items that are important in their lives. Have them create a still life or a diorama with the objects.
