Logan Lecture: Caleb Hahne Quintana
Denver-area native Caleb Hahne Quintana depicts brightly colored figures against the landscape of the Southwest, where Hahne Quintana spent most of his life. With these sacred lands as his backdrop, Hahne Quintana paints those who came before him and those important to him today. Reclaiming his Mexican heritage, Hahne Quintana imbues his paintings with a soft light that envelops these deeply personal characters in an intimate glow, creating or rewriting a legacy for people whose existence might otherwise be discounted or forgotten.
A featured artist in Who tells a tale adds a tail: Latin America and contemporary art, Hahne Quintana will speak about his art, studio practice in Brooklyn, and a recent acquisition of his work by the Denver Art Museum.
