What Makes Mexican Modernism Relevant Today? Featuring Damián Ortega, Pablo Helguera, and Alma Lopez

Please join us for a conversation in response to the DAM’s current exhibition: Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection, on view until January 24th.

Artists and intellectuals will discuss three main themes that are woven throughout the show: appropriation and reclamation as tools of empowerment, public art as activism, and the beauty and injustices of layered identities.
