Evening Encounters: Slow Looking in the Galleries
–
Join us for an evening of slow looking to experience the transformative power of art. We invite you to spend time looking closely at artworks on view at the museum. Specially trained docents will facilitate discussions of selected works every half hour. Join multiple discussions to create your own customized tour. Artworks to be discussed include:
- Charles M. Russell’s In the Wake of the Buffalo Runners – Hamilton Building, level 1 (in Storytellers)
- Elaine de Kooning’s Bullfight – Hamilton Building, level 3
- Teri Greeves' Sons of the Sun – Martin Building, level 3
- Don Stinson’s High Beams and Starlight: Beyond Absence – Double Negative, July 2003 PM – Martin Building, level 7
November 7 is an SCFD Free Day at the DAM, so general admission is free for all visitors. The museum will also be open late until 10 pm, to celebrate Night at the Museums. Learn more.
