Drop-In Writing

Overview

On the fourth Tuesday of every month, join writing instructors from Lighthouse Writers Workshop for an informal writing session that encourages participants to explore their creativity through the written word. Bring your own writing projects or get started on something new. Open to all levels, from the occasional journaler to published authors. Materials provided when onsite.

For this month’s online session, we will focus on Desert Rider: Dreaming in Motion. This exhibition features self-identified Latinx and Indigenous artists who express identity, pride, and a sense of community by transforming vehicles associated with southwestern states. For this writing workshop, as we explore the various artworks we will discuss poetry, movement, and identity, and use these discussions to generate new poetry and poetic experiments.

Drop In Writing in 2023:

Drop-in Writing is an informal writing session on the fourth Tuesday of every month, with both onsite and virtual sessions.

The in-person schedule for 2023 is January 24, February 28, April 25, May 23, July 25, August 22, October 24, and November 28. These sessions are included in general admission and take place in the galleries.

The virtual schedule for 2023 is March 28, June 27, and September 26. These sessions are free and take place over Zoom.
