Community Spotlight: Giving Voice
This Community Spotlight features Giving Voice, a program designed to empower youth living with disabilities and give voice to a social cause that is important to them. This can be a personal experience, frustration, or a global issue. Through collaboration with a professional graphic designer, youth can express something important to them and work with someone who will listen.
Access Gallery, AIGA Colorado, and local graphic designers have collaborated on this annual poster design program since 2006. Giving Voice matches teen artists with disabilities and graphic designers for a multi-session poster design and mentoring workshop. The program then culminates in a gallery exhibition.
Access Gallery is an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative, educational and economic opportunities for people with disabilities to access, experience and benefit from the arts.
Giving Voice is on view daily in the Creative Hub through October 2024. Learn more about it on our blog.
