Join us for an exciting artist talk featuring Baseera Khan!
Khan is a performance, sculpture, and installation artist based in New York whose work is a manifestation of their femme native-born Muslim American experience. Through fashion, photography, textiles and music, parody, sculpture and performance, Khan discusses materials and their economies and the effects of this relationship to labor, family structures, religion, and spiritual well-being. In this presentation, Khan will consider their artistic practice, their past work including the Psychedelic Prayer Rugs series, and what they are looking forward to in the next year.
