Event Program

All day on Acoma Plaza and Martin Plaza:

  • Check out booths hosted by artists and community groups.
  • Fry bread and Indian Taco booths on Acoma and Martin Plazas
  • Commemorative t-shirts for sale at the Denver Indian Center tent on Martin Plaza—all proceeds go to the Denver Indian Center

All day in the museum:

  • Gather friends and family for our Powwow-inspired, free photobooth in the Martin Building, courtesy of Your 6 Front Range Toyota Stores.
  • Beadwork artmaking activities with Katherine Flecksing and Chelsea Kaiah in Wonderscape
  • Visit the Indigenous Arts of North America galleries on levels 2 and 3 in the Martin Building

10 am: Museum opens. Artmaking, food, and booths hosted by artists and community groups also open. Find these booths throughout the day on Acoma and Martin Plazas. Look out for a free opportunity inside the Martin Building, courtesy of Your 6 Front Range Toyota Stores and visit the Indigenous Arts of North American Galleries on levels 2 and 3.

11 am: Grand Entry begins inside the Sie Welcome Center in the Martin Building, located between 13th and 14th Avenue.

12 pm: Dance contests begin, starting with Tiny Tots (0-6 years old). Over $5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded!

12:15 pm: Dance contests, Junior Division (7-12), Teen Division (13-17), and Special Contests (potato dance, musical chairs, and tiny tots special) categories.

2 pm: Dance contest, Golden Age Division (55+)

2:30 pm: Dance contest, Adult Division (18-54)

Parking & Transportation

Parking is available at the Cultural Center Complex Garage. Enter from 12th avenue. Surface lots and metered spaces are also within walking distance. Handicapped-accessible parking is located on 13th Avenue, as well as within the Cultural Center Complex Garage. Elder and handicap drop off/pick up is available on 13th Avenue, between Broadway and Bannock.
