Amor y amistad en febrero en el Denver Art Museum

El Denver Art Museum, donde la entrada general siempre es GRATIS para menores de 18 años de edad, es el lugar ideal para crear recuerdos con sus seres queridos y amistades este mes del amor y la amistad. Juntos podrán aprender acerca de otras culturas y tradiciones; de artistas de fama nacional e internacional; ¡y crear sus propias obras de arte!

El DAM ofrece un sinnúmero de actividades cuidadosamente diseñadas por todo un equipo de educadores para conectar al arte con los visitantes de una manera muy entretenida, lo que permite que los niños –y sus adultos, tengan una experiencia muy especial en el museo.

Foxy y a Shmoxy: 10 de febrero, a las 10:30 y 11:30 am

Estos zorros detectives del arte necesitan de su ayuda para encontrar pistas en las salas para resolver algunos misterios de arte en el museo.

Amiguitos del Arte: 13 de febrero, de 10 am a 1 pm

Traigan a sus chiquitines de 3 a 5 años de edad a explorar la instalación inspirada en la naturaleza El efecto de la incubación, y visiten las extraordinarias creaturas inflables, jueguen y creen su propio arte mientras escuchan interesantes cuentos en preparación al Día de San Valentín.

Corazones para el arte, del 11 al 15 de febrero

Escojan a su obra de arte favorita o más amada, coloquen un corazón de papel en el piso enfrente de ella y tómense una foto para compartir con familiares y amigos en redes sociales, ¡como un regalo del Día de San Valentín!

Dior: de Paris al mundo: Hasta el 17 de marzo

Los bellos vestidos de alta costura, además de fotografías, documentos de archivo tales como cartas y facturas, programas (uno de ellos hace referencia a la estrella del cine mexicano, Dolores del Río) hablan del arte de la alta costura de la Casa Dior, desde sus comienzos (posterior a la Segunda Guerra Mundial) hasta nuestros días. Conoceremos acerca de los directores artísticos, desde Christian Dior hasta Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, y Maria Grazia Chiuri, así como de la influencia que las culturas de otros países tuvieron en sus creaciones. La exhibición muestra hermosos vestidos diseñados exclusivamente para clientas como Marilyn Monroe, María Félix, Audrey Hepburn, y Jennifer Lawrence, entre otras. Esta exhibición requiere de boleto especial y ofrece un descuento a miembros del museo. El boleto incluye un audio guía disponible en inglés o en español, en versión para niños o para adultos.

Estampida: animales en el arte

No se pierdan de la oportunidad de visitar esta increíble exposición con más de 300 obras de arte inspirado por animales –de todo tipo y tamaño– desde los más amados (perros, caballos, y hasta un bello pececito cantador) hasta los más temidos (serpientes, jaguares y dragones), sin olvidar a un enorme dinosaurio rojo. Algunas obras tienen más de 500 años de antigüedad. Se sorprenderán por la belleza de fotografías, esculturas, pinturas, mosaicos de plumas, vasijas, muebles, trajes, abrigos, pequeñas figuras hechas de oro o con hilo de plata, penachos y máscaras. Los invitamos a que usen el juego de búsqueda del tesoro para encontrar todas las obras de arte en su lista.

Love and Friendship at the Denver Art Museum in February

The Denver Art Museum where general admission is ALWAYS FREE for youth ages 18 and younger, is the ideal place to create memories with your loved ones and friends this month dedicated to love and friendship. At the DAM, you can learn about cultures and traditions from around the world, enjoy art from renowned artists of national and international fame, and create your very own art!

The DAM offers a variety of activities carefully designed by a team of educators that aims to connect the art with visitors in a very engaging way. This connection allows children –and their adults—to have a very special and meaningful experience at the museum.

Foxy and Shmoxy: February 10, 10:30 & 11:30 am

These foxes, art detectives, need your help to find clues in the galleries that will help solve some art mysteries in the museum.

Create Playdate: February 13, 10 am – 1 pm

Bring your 3-to-5-year-olds to explore the nature-inspired installation, The Incubation Effect. Visit the extraordinary inflatable creatures and create your own art while listening to interesting stories in preparation for Valentine's Day.

Hearts for art, February 11 – 15

Choose your favorite or most beloved work of art, place a paper heart on the floor in front of it, and take a photo to share with family and friends on social media, as a Valentine's Day gift.

And, of course, you are welcome to also share Dior: From Paris to the World: Through March 17

The beautiful haute couture dresses, as well as photographs, videos, and archival documents such as letters, programs (one of them refers to a Mexican cinema star, Dolores del Río), trace the history of the House of Dior, from its beginnings (post-World War II) to modern times. We learn about the House of Dior’s artistic directors subsequent to Christian Dior, such as Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri. We also learn about the enormous influence cultures from around the world played on their creations. The exhibition shows beautiful gowns designed exclusively for clients such as Marilyn Monroe, Maria Felix, Audrey Hepburn, and Jennifer Lawrence, among others. This ticketed exhibition offers member discount. The ticket includes an audio guide available in English or Spanish, in a version for children or for adults.

Stampede: Animals in Art: Through May 19

This is a must-see exhibition, with more than 300 works of art inspired by animals–of all types and sizes– from the most beloved ones (dogs, horses, and even a beautiful singing fish), to the most feared ones (snakes, jaguars and dragons), including a huge red dinosaur. Some artworks are over 500 years old. The beauty of photographs, sculptures, paintings, feather mosaics, vessels, furniture, outfits, headdresses, and masks shown in the exhibition will amaze you. Feel free to use the game similar to a treasure hunt to find all the works of art on your list.
