Museum Shop & Dining
The two specialty Museum Shop retail locations in the Denver Art Museum reflect its incredibly diverse collections, with an equally diverse array of merchandise from 12 distinct department categories: apparel, books, calendar, children’s, craft, exhibition, gift, home/design, jewelry, media, print and seasonal. Our goal is to help complete the visitor experience with a unique and unusual assortment of products, many of which are handmade by Colorado artists, with prices to fit every budget. Gift-giving is fun, easy, and rewarding here, as the revenues generated from the sales support the programs and collections here at the Denver Art Museum.
Hamilton Building location
The Hamilton shop, which opened in its current location in November 2009, features award-winning design by local Architectural firm Roth + Sheppard, with fixtures produced by High Country Millwork of Longmont, Colorado. The design melds perfectly with the lines of the Libeskind-designed Hamilton Building, validating the modern and contemporary merchandise assortment found within this Shop. The dominant design features are the LED lighted columns and lighted wall where we feature an assortment of manufactured and blown glass products by local and international artists in a variety of prices. The dramatic jewelry fixture showcases numerous talented local jewelry artists as well as internationally known jewelers; Somers, Vessel Amber and Michael Michaud. Many of the unique designs are one of-a-kind.
Need a break before exploring more of the museum? Stop by the Celeste and Dick Callahan CAFÉ located in the Hamilton shop for a great cup of artisan brewed locally roasted coffee by Mad Beans Coffee. Hungry? There are salads, wraps and baked goods supplied by Mad Greens, another local restaurateur, to enjoy at several café tables in the shop.
North Building location
The smaller of the two shops is located on level one of the North Building with merchandise reflecting the collections housed there. Among them are western American, photography, Asian, European, pre-Columbian and American Indian. Turquoise & silver jewelry, carved fetishes from Zuni artists can be discovered in this shop along with antique Chinese baskets and pottery from Mata Ortiz, Mexico. You also will find the best assortment of boxed art notecards, postcards, and calendars in town.
The Museum Shop features a wide range of products that can be tailored to meet business needs. These products range from company or personally monogrammed merchandise to edibles, design products, wedding favors, books, sculptures, portfolios, glassware, and more.
