Hamilton Building, Lower Level
Set within large canvases of theatre stages, imbedded with props from the orient and occident, Jonas Burgert’s creatures emerge as metaphors, shamans, and circus characters. This parabolic world of destruction and decay exists just beyond our visual reality, but not beyond our awareness. Look for his 2007 painting, The Temple, in our modern and contemporary art galleries.
