Logan Lectures 2008: Shinique Smith

Bound, layered, and discarded objects mysteriously mutate into human narratives. Shinique Smith’s process appears precariously spontaneous, suggesting a personal act of cleansing. The space surrounding her installations defies traditional boundaries and underscores the tangible physicality of her work.
