George Carlson

 

Heart of the West

 

December 15, 2007–April 13, 2008

 

Considered one of the finest sculptors living in the West today, George Carlson is known for his sensitive bronze interpretation of animals, especially horses. Heart of the West featured 35 objects, including many sculptures of horses and Native American figures, as well as colorful pastel drawings from Carlson's time living with the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico.
