Eagle’s Nest Lake, Ernest L. Blumenschein

Blumenschein was a member of the Taos Society of Artists, which was active between 1915 and 1927. He was well up on the latest trends in European modernist art and incorporated these elements into his work.

Although his painting is realistic, every feature in the landscape is reduced to its essential form, and the overall effect is one of rich pattern and color.
