Blue Alchemy: Stories of Indigo
Blue Alchemy: Stories of Indigo is a feature-length documentary about indigo, a blue dye that has captured the human imagination for millennia. Mary Lance, the distinguished and award-winning director of films on the federal Work Projects Administration arts project, Diego Rivera, and other great artists, traveled to five countries to research and record the stories of people who are using indigo according to their cultural traditions and those who are reviving it to improve their communities.
Film screening, presentation by Mary Lance, gallery admission to Spun: Adventures in Textiles and a light reception are included. DVDs available in gift shop for signing.
