NEW EXPANDED HOURS: New Time Slots for Final Weeks and Closing Weekend of Becoming Van Gogh
Exclusively at the Denver Art Museum Through January 20; Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance
Due to high demand, the Denver Art Museum (DAM) is adding additional timeslots for Becoming Van Gogh during the final weeks of the exhibition. Visitors can explore the once-in-a-lifetime exhibition until 9 p.m. most nights, on New Year’s Eve and Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until midnight during the final three days. DAM members also have the special opportunity to view the exhibition during select Monday afternoons in January. See below for the schedule of additional hours or visit www.VanGoghDenver.com for time slots and ticket availability.
The museum encourages everyone to plan ahead and purchase tickets in advance. Timed and dated tickets are available on-site, online at www.VanGoghDenver.com or over the phone by calling 720-913-0130. There is a fee for booking over the phone. A ticket to Becoming Van Gogh includes admission to the museum and the interactive, hands-on Paint Studio. During extended hours, the entire Hamilton Building will remain open for visitors to enjoy. However, the North Building will close at the regularly scheduled time except January 18–20, when it will stay open late with the Hamilton Building. Palettes, the Kevin Taylor restaurant at the DAM, is also planning special hours for the final weeks of the exhibition. See below for Palettes’ expanded hours. About the Exhibition
Becoming Van Gogh is an in-depth exploration of Vincent van Gogh’s unconventional path to becoming one of the world’s most recognizable artists. The exhibition examines critical steps in the evolution of the largely self-taught artist through more than 70 paintings and drawings by Van Gogh, along with works from artists who inspired him. The DAM is the only venue for the exhibition which brings together loans from more than 60 public and private collections through Europe and North America to tell the story of a number of key formative periods throughout the artist’s career. No other exhibition has focused so intensely on Van Gogh’s personal growth and progression as he developed his own personal style.
Becoming Van Gogh is organized by the Denver Art Museum. The exhibition is funded by Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation; Wells Fargo; Sotheby’s; and Sill-TerHar Motors, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Maserati. Additional funding is provided by Telemundo Denver and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). This exhibition is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities. Promotional support is provided by 5280 Magazine, CBS4 and The Denver Post.
